You do not need an account to edit, although the site might be easier to use if you do create one.
The following types of edit would be useful at this early stage:
Add new publications. To see how this is done click “edit source” on any existing publication page. Here’s an example. Copy the code and adapt it for a new publication. Search for the new publication click the red link that appears. Then copy the code over.
Filling in meta-data, especially keywords. Have a look how keywords are entered by clicking “edit source” on any existing publication page. Here’s an example. Browse the catalogue of existing publications and fill in missing categories.
Don’t worry about making mistakes as they are easy to fix.
There’s plenty more that can be done to help grow the wiki, but these two activities are a good starting point.
